Due to popular demand, the RQT Programme will be running again. Dates are set for 15th March, 7th May and 19th June 2019.
We often find ourselves offering large amounts of support to our Newly Qualified Teachers in terms of mentoring, release time and further training. However, we sometimes forget the extra pressures of the following years when release time halves, mentor meetings stop, and there are less opportunities to participate in training events.
This programme for RQTs (teachers with 2 - 5 years experience) gives these colleagues the chance to pause and reflect; to step outside their classrooms and learn from others; and find new approaches to trial and consider. With tasks between the 3 face to face days, learning is taken back into school and embedded into classrooms, and - in some cases - shared across the school.
Developed by the Eastern Leadership Centre, and refined by Suffolk Borders TSA over several years, this programme is proven to move teachers on in their thinking and practices.
" The programme allowed me to take a step back and think about me. I've been able to share my experiences and thoughts in a safe environment where facilitators and other participants have been able to challenge and support my professional learning"
"A really useful and insightful programme"
"I know I am a more reflective and effective practitioner after engaging with this programme - I've looked forward to the face to face days and the gap tasks have been really valuable"
"A rare chance to step back and the opportunity to meet, talk and work with others early in their teaching"
